It all began with the Idaho City Restoration Committee turning the old Post Office in Idaho City into the Boise Basin Museum. That committee morphed into the Idaho City Historical Foundation who currently cares for:
     Three museums (including the original Boise Basin Museum)
     One Territorial Prison
     Two residences
     A Pest House
     A Blacksmith Shop
     Four parks
     A Garden
     A Mining History Trail and
     A Pioneer Cemetery
